I've been a bit behind on blogging lately. Colin and I have both been working all week and keeping up with the house projects all weekend. So where did I leave off? Oh yeah the stone was going up. We decided that we wanted to wrap the posts with stone was well. I think it turned out great.
Once the stone was finished we started to have the stone cap installed but that came to an immediate halt after we saw what it looked like. The color was uneven, there were bubble holes, and worst of all the stone was way too thick.
Luckily, the company refunded our money and we took it elsewhere. The new company gave us several samples to choose from.
After a couple of days, we decided on chocolate for the color of the stone cap. Unfortunately, its a waiting game now. It will take them 4 weeks to make the cap for us. We are now at about week 2.
While we wait for the stone cap, there are still several projects to attend to. It has taken us two weekends to cover the gable ends and put in the new vents. Colin also spent a couples days in the attic placing new wiring for the motion detector lights on each end of the house.

We have a bit of a pigeon problem on the west side of the house. They nested in the one nook our roof line has. This guy is probably wondering where his nest went. We are replacing it with spikes to deter him from getting cozy again.
This Memorial weekend we squeezed as many hours as possible out of each day. We welcomed the handsome Mr. Palmer Fritz Williams into the world via Facetime, finished the west side gable end, cleaned the house from top to bottom and had the family over for a swimming party. This next weekend we plan to work on the west side of the house...filling in the old bathroom window and replacing the hot water heater door.
