Garage Wall Destruction & New Mexico...02.10-12.2012

This weekend Colin was home alone and decide that he wanted to continue the house project. He called over a couple of buddies and this is the result of their work...  

 The front was covered in plywood and behind were metals studs sitting on the concrete. There used to be a garage door here.

 Colin poured a concrete slab to build on top of, as to prevent water from seeping into the house

 Up go the studs..

 The window was originally off center, so that's framed correctly now.

What our neighbors get to look at this week!

Colin got a lot done this weekend but it wasn't without hassle from one of our neighbors. Most of our neighbors are kind and appreciate that we are working on the house. They stop and ask what we are doing and tell us how awful it used to look. But one of our nosy neighbors came over to tell Colin that he needed to be taking out permits and how he should be fixing things. Honestly, some people!

Meanwhile, I got the chance to see the UIC Flames Softball team in all their glory. They were playing a round robin in New Mexico, so a couple of us drove the six hours to go see Courtney play. 

 

 She was safe!!
