Not only did we attend the social obligations of Superbowl weekend but we also drained our beautiful green pool. As some of you will remember prior to purchasing the house, there was a stipulation that the pool had to be clean before hand. Well in order to clean it quickly they power washed it and several chunks of plaster came off the walls. That was very disappointing and unfortunately we didn't get to reap the benefits of having a pool last summer. Sooo we decided that this summer we would like to be able to lounge around the pool when the hot hot heat sets in. We probably could start doing that sooner than later because lately we have been getting 75 degree weather. It's beautiful out...even though us thin blooded people still wear light jackets. Sorry east coasters!Let the draining begin....
This little guy did all the work...we flooded both the front and back yard as to put it to good use but that much water didn't even put a dent in the pool.
You can finally start to see a difference.
The next morning all that was left was a nice pile of sludge. The pump couldn't get to it so we had to manually remove the goop. Jayda's pooper scooper help me from touching anything too gross.
As the pool drained, we removed the cement slab that the pool pump sat on
As you can see they didn't pour enough concrete for the pump to fit on. Instead they shoved bricks underneath it to keep it upright. We find ourselves time and time again saying, "what were they thinking?"
